I. Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) Indications 1. End-stage hip osteoarthritis: Severe articular cartilage wear and bone hyperplasia, accompanied by persistent hip pain, ineffective conservative treatment for more than 3 months, and severely limited walking and flexion-extension functions. 2. Avascular necrosis of the femoral head: Stage III and IV femoral head collapse and deformity, hip joint mobility impairment, and recurrent pain. 3. Old femoral neck fracture and intertrochanteric fracture: Nonunion of the fracture, femoral head necrosis, and secondary hip joint dysfunction. 4. Rheumatoid arthritis of the hip joint and ankylosing spondylitis: Hip joint ankylosis and deformity, loss of normal mobility. II. Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) Indications 1. End-stage knee osteoarthritis: Varus or valgus deformity, joint space narrowing, complete cartilage wear, severe pain during walking, and ineffective conservative treatment. 2. Rheumatoid arthritis and traumatic arthritis: Knee joint swelling, deformity, and flexion-extension dysfunction, severely affecting quality of life. 3. Knee joint bone destruction and ankylosis, where normal standing and walking are impossible.
